Since 1984 Bolivia Andes & Amazonia has been one of the cornerstones of Fremen Tours. This 15-day trip will enable you to sample the very best of Bolivian daily life and history combined with breathtaking landscapes and some of Bolivia's best kept secrets, and featuring privately guided tours.

Explore La Paz, Tiwanaku archaeological site and Lake Titicaca including the Island of the Sun — mythical birthplace of the Inca civilization.

Then travel across the Andes to the valleys of eternal spring in Cochabamba. This seldom visited inter-andean region is home to vibrant Quechua culture and a wealth of timeless traditions. From there you will scout the rainforests of Amboró-Carrasco National Park — one of Bolivia's best and truly hidden treasures. The park is an ideal place to look for for monkeys and orchids...

Our next stop will be Trinidad for a hands-on discovery of remote Amazon rainforest and rivers.

Here we will travel by boat on the Upper Amazon River System of northeastern Bolivia. Our riverboat journeys along the great Mamore River, stopping to visit communities and to trek into the rainforest. It is a great way to see wildlife, including pink river dolphins, howler monkeys and toucans and experience the way of life of the Indian communities of Mojeño and Yurakare people.

The final part of our journey will take us to Santa Cruz de la Sierra in the eastern lowlands, where the weather is warm and the mood is relaxed. Our stay in Santa Cruz includes a spectacular excursion in the surrounding area at Samaipata World Heritage Site (UNESCO).

Experience Bolivia's fascinating natural variety and cultural wonders. With many opportunities to customize your stay, Bolivia Andes & Amazonia is designed to give you an authentic look at Bolivia, its people and their history.

WHERE?

• La Paz - The city of contrasts: a unique blend of cultures and ways of life, and located within breathtaking panoramas, with whispers of ancient civilizations at Tiwanaku – one of the most interesting archaeological sites of South America.

• Lake Titicaca - The religious center where the ancient andean beliefs interact with the living faith of today’s Aymara people. In the middle of the lake, the Island of the Sun is the Sacred Place.

• Cochabamba - The fertile valleys between the arid altiplano and the tropical eastern plains, with a year-round springlike climate, a unique cultural blend of the highlands and lowlands, and a distinct mix of old and new.

• Amboró-Carrasco National Park - Where the Andes mountains meet the Amazon. It is one of the few Andean protected areas to include the entire altitudinal gradient from the deepest canyons to the high-altitude summits (above 4,700 m asl). Amboró-Carrasco is a "natural island" so rich in plant species that scientists are still identifying new ones.

• Trinidad - Gateway to the Upper Amazon River System, with heavily forested patches amidst many large rivers — all tributaries of the Amazon river. Due to very low human impact (Beni is the most sparsely populated of the nine departments of Bolivia), this hidden corner of Bolivia is a true natural gem.

• Santa Cruz - The tropical way of life in the heart of South America: charm and colonial tradition, combined with a growing commercial activity. Several World Heritage Sites (UNESCO) in the area, and Santa Cruz is also the gateway to a number of great nature reserves in the tropical lowlands.
