You will spend two nights at hotel in Sucre and one night at hotel in Potosí. Both cities are listed as World Heritage Sites under the UNESCO patronage.

Discover distinctive architecture, painted colonial white with red tile roofs in Sucre, the historic capital of Bolivia. In the vicinity of Sucre, you will find a number of indigenous handicraft centers redeeming ancient weaving techniques such as Tarabuco, a small indigenous town where a very colorful native market is held every Sunday.

Potosí was once the largest city in the Americas and one of the most important urban centers in the world, renowned for its silver mines. Discover echoes of Potosi's rich colonial past in the elaborate baroque church facades and private homes with wooden balconies overlooking the narrow winding streets. Visit Casa de la Moneda, which served the Spanish empire as a mint, fortress and prison.

But most of all, immerse yourself in Bolivia's culture! Essential Sucre & Potosí is a must for those open-minded, cultural travelers who wish to learn about the daily life in the Bolivian Andes from the insider's point of view... We invite you to connect with the locals as you visit weavers' workshops in Sucre, and explore the colonial mines of Potosí in the company of authentic Quechua-Aymara miners.

In option #1 you will travel as locals do, on the bus. In option #2 all transfers and excursions are in private.

Come join us on a cultural adventure of a lifetime in Sucre and Potosí.

• 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

• Historic City of SUCRE - Sucre, the first capital of Bolivia, was founded by the Spanish in the first half of the 16th century. Its many well-preserved 16th-century religious buildings illustrate the blending of local architectural traditions with Spanish styles. Sucre is listed by the UNESCO as a Cultural World Heritage Site.

The valleys surrounding Sucre are home to traditional weaving communities, whose way of life hasn’t changed in centuries. The handicrafts and colorful handmade textiles (locally known as aguayos) of the Sucre area are famous throughout Bolivia and abroad. These ages-old art forms and techniques can be seen today in every corner and indigenous settlements in the region such as in the ancient villages of Tarabuco, Jatun Yampara, Potolo and others. There we will meet with the locals to learn about their crafts and their everyday life in this part of the Andes. Note that Tarabuco (65 km/40 miles from Sucre) holds an interesting street fair known as Tarabuco Market on Sundays.

• Historic City of POTOSI - During its mining heyday in the 17th century, Potosí was the biggest city in the Americas. Silver from Potosí was taken to Spain and used all over Europe. Now a walk through the streets takes you back to the times of the Spanish conquistadores. Our tour of the city includes a visit to the famous Casa de la Moneda and main monuments and churches of the old town which is listed by the UNESCO as a Cultural World Heritage Site.

The Cerro Rico or "Rich Mountain" that overlooks Potosí used to be the main source of silver in the area. Explore deep inside mines that have hardly changed since colonial times. Here you can learn about the customs and traditions of the workers, their strange relationship with the coca leaf, the Earth Goddess Pachamama and Tío, the god of the underworld. Your Potosí mine tour also includes a visit to the miners' market.
